Event Details

It is 100 years since the birth of the radical economist E.F. Schumacher, and 38 years since he published his seminal text Small Is Beautiful: Economics As If People Mattered. A recent article in The Guardian claimed that Schumacher's ideas were having a revival, and the centenary of his birth provides us with a timely occasion to discuss what his ideas can offer for contemporary society. Whether you're reading this book for the first time or re-reading it, join our lively discussion group where we will debate Small Is Beautiful over tea and cakes. (Please read the book beforehand!)

Free event, all welcome.
